Montpellier In Focus

The historic city center of Montpellier — the l’Écusson, so named for its shield-like shape — is a self-contained little world, with shops, plazas, parks and even an opera house, all connected by a tangle of narrow, pedestrian passageways. It’s also been home for the past five years and counting, much to my continued surprise. Life’s funny that way…
